The Eight Annual NOAA-Crest Symposium was held on June 5-6, 2013 was a great success in bringing together individuals from different research areas to discuss urban coastal environmental issues.

Among the attendees were research scholars from NJIT's Center for Natural Resources Development and Protection (NRDP), who contributed to the event by sharing their research.

Dr. Michael Weinstein, Senior Scientist at the NRDP Center presented on impact of climate change and hurricanes on coastal embayments. (Abstract)

Dr. Firas Saleh and Mr. Leo Geng presented on the ecological impact of Hurricane Sandy on New Jersey shorelines. (Abstract)
