Colloquium Speaker: Dr. Stefaan Poedts

Dr. Stefaan Poedts is Full Professor at the KU Leuven and Chair of the Department of Mathematics. Prof. Poedts co-authored three CUP Books, viz. “Principles of MHD” (Goedbloed and Poedts, 2004) and “Advanced MHD” (Goedbloed, Keppens and Poedts, 2010), and “MHD of Laboratory and Astrophysical Plasmas” (Goedbloed, Keppens and Poedts), Cambridge University Press, Jan 2019. He co-authored more than 350 papers in international reviewed journals, 190 papers in proceedings of int. conferences, and 6 ‘outreach’ publications. Together, his papers have been cited 5700+ times in ADS. Since June 2012, he is Chair of the ESA Space Weather Working Team (SWWT, member since 2002). He is currently leading the EU Horizon2020 Project EUHFORIA 2.0 and two related ESA projects.
