ADD Lab's summer internship program had its best showing yet in 2019, featuring 14 students from a range of STEM backgrounds. In a short timeframe of only 10 weeks the interdisciplinary team constructed fully functioning remote drone prototypes intended for deep cave exploration. These drones were made 100% from scratch, all the way down to the custom aluminum chassis and 3D printed treads. Their work was showcased at the NJIT Student Research Symposium, and has undergone field testing sponsored by the U.S. Department of Defense.
