Travel Grants

Limited funds are available to support undergraduate and graduate student travel to the conference.

To be eligible for financial assistance for your travel, you must first ask your department/advisor for travel funding. Travel grants are available to participants whose department is unable to provide full travel support.

To apply for travel assistance, send an email to Mrs. Leslie Williams ( by September 29 2017 with the subject lineMAS APS: Student travel support” and the following information:

  1. Method of travel (we encourage carpooling)
  2. Estimated cost to travel to the conference
  3. Number of nights in hotel
  4. Will you share a hotel room with another Conference Participant?
  5. Have you requested support from your department/advisor?
  6. Amount your department/advisor will contribute.

If your request granted, then you will need to save all travel receipts and bring them with you to the conference. You will need to provide original receipts to receive travel reimbursement. If you use a personal car, please submit a Google map showing the miles traveled.

Please coordinate travel amongst other attendees from your institution. If you are flying, you must obtain pre-approval from the Conference Organizers prior to booking your ticket. You will be contacted with instructions for airplane ticket purchase.
