Colloquium Speaker: Dr. Haihong Che
Assistant Professor, The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH)

Dr. Haihong Che received her Ph.D in physics from the University of Maryland, College Park, in 2009. Then she worked as a postdoc at the University of Colorado, Boulder for two years. In 2011 she moved to Goddard Flight Center in Maryland. In 2014 she became a research scientist at University of Maryland. Since 2019 she has been an assistant professor in space science at the University of Alabama in Huntsville.    

Dr. Che received the NASA postdoc fellowship in 2011. She received the Inaugural Rene Pellat Memorial Festival Prize from the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA) in 2017 for her contribution to the fundamental understanding of nonlinear kinetic turbulence in space plasma. In 2019 she received the Inaugural NASA Heliophysics Career award for her original research in magnetic reconnection and nonlinear kinetic instabilities and the applications in helio- and solar physics.
