Dr. Marilena Mierla is a researcher at the Royal Observatory of Belgium. She is also affiliated with the Institute of Geodynamics of the Romanian Academy. Her main interests are in understanding the dynamics of the solar corona and the initiation mechanisms of coronal mass ejections, their evolution and propagation into the interplanetary space.
